As a biochemist, I have a fairly specific understanding about the elements: for example helium is a monoatomic gas that is not very reactive. In this project, I wanted to find out how AI conceptualizes elements. Does it think about applications like most people probably would, or would it think about something completely different? What about the rarer elements that are not as well-known and do not have as widespread applications? I used text-to-image generator and put all the names of the elements individually in and combined the results.
