Georgy Ananov – Non-human imagination

We often think of imagination as something distinctly human. Some even claim that our imagination is exactly what sets humans apart from the machines. With this project I wanted to take a look at some of the ways in which an AI can be imaginative. The video below aims to mimic the process of a human reading a passage of text and imagining how the character described in the passage might look like, and how their appearance might change throughout the story. Except here, the one “reading” the text and “imagining” the character is not a human at all.
